On 4-11-06 I was taking my daughter to school when a 16 year old pulled out in front of me, and messed up the Elcamino pretty bad. Nobody was hurt in the accident thankfully, so the only issue to deal with was repairing or replacing vehicles. I bought a 94 Blazer for transportation , but I wanted another Elcamino. The next Sunday was Easter, at the end of the service the pastor was saying that if you ask God to speak to you, He will. I did ask. As soon as the service was over one of the guys at church said that he heard about the wreck. Then he said that his Dad had one that he wanted to sell. The next day he drove it to my house, A 64, factory air Elcamino with no rust, and I don't see any old repairs either. I got a fair settlement from the insurance company, bought this one and I will be transfering the parts over. I felt like a kid that lost his favorite toy, and Daddy [ Heavenly Father ] got me a new one.

After a year of driving, and working on this Elcamino. here it is . The engine and trans has been swaped the hood is fixed and now I am working on the body. I thought that it had no rust , but I did find some in the lower quarter. Only on the passenger side the other side is solid. I cut the rust out and welded in metal. I ended up with a little more filler than I intended but it's still not very much.

Here it is after the new paint. It took me about 15 months of work to get to this point. It's pretty much the same as the other one, except for the interior. The one that is wrecked had a good interior, but I have decided to do a few thing different.
